Students and Researchers Progress & Awards

Congratulations Dr. Walaa Moussa for the impressive performance during your studies

Few words from Dr. Walaa Moussa: During my PhD course, I have studied natural products chemistry and molecular genetics underlying antifungal activity of endophytic microbes, defined as microbes that inhabit internal plant tissues without causing disease. I have discovered a fascinating novel inter-kingdom interaction mechanism and reported my discovery (as lead author) as an Article in Nature Microbiology. Moreover, I have published a book chapter and 7 more papers in international respected Journals. In addition, I have given short lectures at top scientific conferences, including those organized by American Society of Pharmacognosy and American Society of Microbiology, in USA, Canada, Europe and China and have won the best oral presentation prize three times in a row. My current work involves studying small molecules from human microbiota that mediate microbe-microbe and microbe-host interactions using bioinformatics tools.

Farid Ibrahim (MD) - McGill University received the acknowledgment of the American College of Surgeons, Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Advances for Chilldren, for his distinguished contribution. All the best.
